D.O.T. Physicals

We are now offering Department of Transportation Physical Exams.  We understand how important it is to have a thorough Physical Exam to qualify for your CDL License.

CDL Drivers attest to Medical Condition as required based on the type of CDL Certification being sought.

For the most part, a Complete CDL Physical Exam should include:

Vision Screening        - to determine your vision ability, with or without vision correction (glasses, contacts).

                                                 - to check peripheral vision

- to check color identity, with and without vision correction

Hearing                        - to determine the the level of ability (or limitations), to hearing, with or without hearing aids

Blood Pressure           - to identify abnormalities and determine that health will allow for long periods of sitting

Urinalysis                     - to identify if there are any medical conditions or other irregularities that affect Safe Driving

Medical History          - to identify any historical conditions that may affect Safe driving

Physical Exam             - to determine 'overall' physical condition, the DOT exam will include an evaluation of:

 Appearance - including weight and visual cues of medical or substance abuse concerns or previous surgeries

Neurological aptitude - balance, speech, reflexes

Vascular overview - blood flow, pulse strength, varicose veins, etc.

Mouth, Throat, Lungs & Chest - breathing & swallowing

Organs/Abdominal exam - hernias, weakness, unexplained masses

Skeletal - limitation, weakness, loss or damage of extremities

Vaccination history - to identify what vaccinations may be required for the certification

Be Prepared for your visit:

Be sure to bring:

Vision / Hearing correction - bring eyeglasses, hearing or other assistive aids

Medications / History - bring any medications you are taking or documents of previous medical conditions.  Recent Lab results for Hemoglobin A1C levels or a Cardiologists' letter or clearance to work may be required.

Vaccination history / to determine what necessary vaccinations are needed

D.O.T. documents that you will need completed/signed
